"Nature Signs"

Nature Signs includes 16 inkjet prints mounted on aluminum and installed on a cast aluminum directional traffic sign post. The piece was created for the City of Louisville Colorado's downtown sculpture garden. The piece is 10 ft high and 6 ft circumference at the top. The images show views from 3 sides of the sculpture.
The images are sourced from photographs printed and painted on, they are digitized then printed and mounted on aluminum. Source materials for commissioned work are site specific. The work plays with the words "nature signs" and the format "directional signs", both suggest direction and information. The piece, however, provides neither and mirrors our own confusion regarding nature, how to protect it, what trade offs to make.
