Paintings - Gap Kids (2002)

“GAP Kids” is about identity and how it is framed early in childhood. Media and society mandate what we are supposed to look like and be like, and all ages are a “segment”. This is most clearly evident in parenting magazines where Gerber babies become GAP kids. For this series I appropriated GAP pictures, enlarged them and painted on them with acrylic.

Medium: acrylic on archival ink jet prints on paper, size 45” X 33” $ 800 per, unframed
